Work, Life, Fitness: How I Learned to Make It All Fit

One of the hardest things about trying to live a healthier lifestyle isn't necessarily the workout itself. It's figuring out where the workout fits into everything else you already have going on.

Between work, responsibilities at home, relationships, errands, and everything else life throws at you, adding workouts, eating well, and remembering supplements can feel like you're adding another job to your day.

When I first started trying to stay consistent with everything, it definitely didn't feel easy.

But I've learned something important:

You don't need a perfect routine. You need a routine that works with your life.

At First, It Feels Like A Lot

When you're trying to improve your fitness, it's easy to think you need to change everything at once.

Wake up early. Work out. Hit your steps. Eat perfectly. Drink enough water. Take your supplements. Meal prep. Get enough sleep.

Then you still have to actually go to work and live your life.

That can get overwhelming pretty quickly. What helped me was realizing that I didn't have to completely rearrange my life around fitness. Instead, I needed to find little places where fitness could become part of the routine I already had.

Eventually, the things that initially required effort started becoming habits.

I Keep My Supplement Routine Simple

The same thing happened with supplements.

Instead of having a complicated schedule that I'm constantly trying to remember, I've found times that make sense for me.

In the morning, I take my creatine. I also take Micro-Factor and Full-Mega every day.

If I'm doing a strength workout, my post-workout routine is Phormula-1 with Ignition.

After cardio workouts, I use BCAAs.

And on those busy days when getting an actual meal in is difficult, I'll sometimes use Level-1 to help me get protein in rather than just skipping it altogether. I also keep magnesium in my regular routine.

That's what works for me. Your routine doesn't have to look exactly like mine.

The biggest thing is finding something that you're actually capable of sticking with.

Working Out Doesn't Have to Take Over Your Life

I think this is where people sometimes get discouraged.

They miss a workout because work ran late.

They eat something that wasn't part of the plan.

They forget their supplements.

And suddenly it feels like they messed everything up.

You didn't.

Fitness doesn't have to be all or nothing. Some weeks you're going to have amazing workouts and stay completely on top of everything.

Other weeks, getting a 30-minute workout in might be a win.

That's life.

The goal isn't to build a routine that only works when everything goes perfectly. Build one that can survive the busy weeks too.

Make the Easy Choice Easier

I've found that preparation makes a huge difference.

If you want to work out in the morning, get your clothes ready the night before.

If you struggle to eat enough protein during a busy day, have something convenient available.

If you always forget your supplements, put them somewhere you'll actually see them.

If an hour-long workout isn't realistic that day, do 30 minutes.

Little things like this remove excuses before you have the opportunity to make them. And after you've done it long enough, you don't have to think about every little decision anymore.

It becomes part of your normal day.

You Will Figure It Out

If you're just starting, give yourself some time.

Your first routine probably won't be your forever routine.

You might try working out before work and hate it. Try after work.

You might plan six workouts every week and realize four is much more realistic.

You might forget your supplements constantly until you figure out the easiest time to take them.

That's okay. You're figuring out what works.

Consistency isn't about being perfect every single day.

It's about continuing to come back to the habits that matter.

Eventually, you'll find your rhythm. Work will still be busy. Life will still happen. There will still be days when you don't feel like working out.

But something that once felt difficult can eventually become just another part of your day.

And that's when everything starts getting easier.
